Two friends — John and Peter are daily wage workers. Their job is to fill a water tank bucket by bucket that will supply water to a nearby village.
They are paid 1$ for each bucket they put in the water tank.
Initially both are very happy with the job. But after some time John starts thinking about how his job is making him tired after work. Also, if someday he can’t fill buckets, he won’t get paid. He is not able to enjoy his time after work.
John thinks about it and one day discusses with Peter that they can build a pipeline to the water tank which will supply water 24*7. They can earn money on their pipeline on the basis of how much water is transferred everyday.
Peter just laughed off the idea. He gave John reasons about money and efforts needed to build the pipeline and the risk that would come along with it.
John anyway decides to turn around his life and just go about it.
An year fast forward.
Peter is out of job because his job is taken by John’s new pipeline. He is grumpy about it and looking for new jobs which would pay him for each bucket he would fill.
John is earning money through the pipeline without filling any buckets while working on building pipelines in other areas.

Moral: Build your pipeline while you have your bucket job.
